Personal Maps & Walk Tracking
A long-running interest in maps you own yourself: where you’ve been, how far you’ve walked, and how places look when you treat them as personal geography rather than a social feed. Related products span hex map tooling, private travel history, Camino-style walk progress, and live Iberian train boards.

Why it matters
Place history and walk logs are useful for memory, planning, and sometimes practical stays (visas, taxes) — but they don’t need to leave the device as raw routes or photos. That preference shows up in product choices and in the privacy policy: on-device content first; aggregate counts for analytics when helpful, not “where you’ve been” as a server-side trail.
It also sits next to Google Local Guide and photography— public place photos and reviews on one side, private personal maps and walks on the other.
